It is surely a special day when I get to eat eggs this fresh. These were collected this morning. Wednesday morning. Unbelievable. My compliments go to Red Comb Farm.
The past few days have really shown me many reasons why I write this little blog of mine. One such reason is the response to the swap. Holy cow! It has been an unexpected and very active couple of days in my inbox. I am going to try to set up a flickr pool so we can share some of the goodies that we send and receive. (That will most likely challenge my computer skills but I am up to the task!)
Making connections with people worldwide has been wildly exciting for me these past two blogging years. I have done trades and swaps and gotten to peak in on growing families, beautiful knitting, home improvements, delicious cupcakes, cool outfits, backyard gardens... and sometimes I even get to meet up with some of you face to face.
Awesome.
Today I finally got to meet Abi. In person.
Getting ready this morning I felt a bit nervous. First date nervous. But the minute Frances and I pulled into the driveway I immediately relaxed. Meeting Abi and her two youngest kids was like visiting with old friends, except with farm chores which are very new to us. We chatted and fed the animals and collected eggs and chatted and ate eggs and chatted and chatted until it was time for us to drive home like maniacs so we wouldn't be late for picking Eleanor up from school. We made it. No problem.
I am so thankful for this online community. It has introduced me to incredible people doing such interesting things and I am constantly inspired by all of you out there. Thank you.
