Today's tour was a success! They came. They ate. Here was our menu. Caprese made with homemade mozzarella, local tomatoes, and our own sweet basil. Nasturtium pesto (thanks Abi for posting this recipe) on bowtie pasta and fresh grated parmesan . This was a conversation dish and everyone was surprised and impressed that you can eat the leaves. And fresh ciabatta with herb butter. I bartered with the folks who are "All Good Bakery" for five loaves baked for us this morning (Yay for Britin and Nick!). I posted a recipe similar to the herb butter a while back. For today I made the "low-fat" version -- without the cream cheese. Heh heh.
The best part of the tour was the after party for all of the participants. Everyone brought what they served to their guests. We feasted on creamed codfish, rack of lamb, curry chicken salad on crispy wonton, Spanish frittata, caesar salad, Pissaladiere, crepes with berries...the list goes on.
Good times.
