We are so lucky to live so close to the state museum. It is just a quick walk or trike ride. We find ourselves there often especially when school is out. It is great to go in the bitter cold winter when the kids need to run around to get their ya-yas out and great to go in the summer when we are all in desperate need of AC.
We certainly have favorite parts to visit but as E gets older we find ourselves lingering a little more to read info or talk about the exhibits. I have been visiting this museum since I was a child and it is fun to share it now with my kids.
This huge miniature model of an Iroquois village is one exhibit I could stare at for hours.
Every February the museum holds a flower show. Perhaps it seems silly to have a flower show in the middle of winter but still we go every year. Yes, many of the arrangements are cheesy but seeing flowers bring smiles to our faces and remind us of the colorful (warm) seasons that are around the corner.
I didn't make it to the movies this weekend but it instead had fun times with the fam -- and Matt and I got a few hours for a date too!
